Beauty: Coastal Scents and Etsy

About two weeks ago I went on Etsy to look for a makeup bag. I was searching for so long and I finally found it! I absolutely LOVE it. It has so much room and it’s lavender too which is my favorite color!.

Then today I finally got some packages in the mail from Coastal Scents.

(1) Warm palette (2) Blush palette (3) Winterberry palette

I haven’t played around with any of the palettes yet so hopefully I can play with it soon.

Beauty: First look

I decided to play around with my Naked 2 palette. I had to experiment with some of the colors. So what I did first was used the color SUSPECT. I put it all around my lid then after that I used the color BUSTED. I put the color at the outer corner of my eye and I used my blending brush that came with the palette and blend in with the other color. Keep blending until you are satisfied. After that, with my type of eyes I have I decided to use a gel liner from ELF for the upper lid and for the lower lid I used a dark brown NYX eyeliner pencil. I tried using a liquid eyeliner but when I tried it, it made my eyes look pretty harsh and not soft. After that I used the Sonia Kashuk’s eyebrow palette to draw my eyebrows to make it a little darker but not too dark that it pops out.

It was difficult for me to do since I wear glasses I had to have my glasses off in order to do this look. It took me about 2 or 3 times to do this look but I finally got it after one mistake after another.

I’m all for opinions about what I should or should not do since I’m still new to this. So feel free to give me some advice/pointers.

Marianne Estellise/Personal: Embracing and enjoying life

Thinking about how I was back in high school and till now I have changed so much. In high school I was a carefree person but was also conscious about myself. I didn’t care what I wore, I wasn’t afraid of how I presented myself, etc. But since I gotten older, became a wife, a mother.. I started caring way too much than I should to the point that it became difficult for me to enjoy life. I felt that I always had to be serious and always have to think about the consequences because I was always afraid that it will come back to me twice as hard. I also felt as I got older, people would stare at me and judge me because of the way I am.

But as I look at Marianne and see how carefree she is, I started looking at myself and think that I need to start being carefree. The only person that I have to prove to myself is myself, no one else. I shouldn’t be afraid to try something new. I should be doing things that makes me happy. Like Marianne, she has a fever at the moment but it doesn’t get her down.. she’s still an active baby and a happy one too. Also when she falls or something, she doesn’t stop doing it.. she keeps going at it even though she probably knows what will happen next. Times like this when I watch her play, she makes me appreciate life so much and cherish everything that I have right now. She has no worries at all, no care at all..

Sometimes.. as much as I’m the adult and Marianne is the baby. She taught me a lesson and I’m thankful that I have my little girl in my life.

Health & Fitness: Exercise and eating well

WARNING: It might be too much information well only the beginning so be aware.

Few weeks ago I decided to strip down in only my bras and undies and took pictures of what I look from the back and front. When I uploaded the pictures onto my computer and saw what I look like, I was pretty disgusted with my body. People have told me that I look good for someone who gave birth to Marianne a year ago so I told myself oh I don’t need to work out or do anything but boy was I wrong. I didn’t want to look like this fat lard so I decided to change how I eat, how I exercise, and what I drink.

For exercising since I don’t have a job and I’m the type of person that isn’t active I had to find something that was in my interest. There was a couple of gyms that had a free trial so I used it and didn’t liked it at all. I’m the type of person who is a hermit shell and doesn’t like to go out very often so driving to the gym feels like it’s a waste of time and energy even though it’s suppose to be good for me. So there had to be another alternative way for me to work out and I found it which is DDR! Few months ago Mike bought a PS2 on Craigslist with a metal DDR pad and while we had it I didn’t bother using it because I was pretty much lazy. Since the difficult circumstances of being tight on money I had to find something at home to exercise.

With DDR there is a couple of modes that you can do and I chose the workout mode. It makes you put how many pounds you weigh, what type of playing you want to do, also how many calories you want to burn. For me, I weigh 153 lbs and each time I play I would put my calories to 200. Usually when I burn up to 200 calories in time frame I would play for an hour which is good for me. Back then when I was in high school I used to play DDR so much practically everyday for a couple of hours and I would be sweating so much. So I figured since it worked for me back then it should work for me now and so far it’s been good. I love it, it’s fun and I hear songs that I love to listen which is mainly in Japanese.

Another thing I decided to do was to get rid of our computer chair. Since Mike and I are mainly on the computer I decided that I should put something that is useful and helps us. Even though we are mainly sitting on this exercise ball, in silent we are trying to balance ourselves which makes us use our muscles. Not only does this help with the abs it also helps posture too so we are killing two birds with one stone. You can get an exercising ball anywhere like Target, Walmart, or even a sports store.

With eating and drinking, I had to change so much of it. I love my soda so knowing that it’s bad for me I decide to cut it out cold turkey. So far I’m doing well without it and I’m drinking more water. But there is one thing that I have a bad addiction for which is my Starbucks drink. Usually I would get it once every other day depending on my mood. I would get an iced white chocolate mocha with soy, grande or venti size, with no whip cream. I know it’s bad to drink Starbucks like this but I need my caffeine especially when I have my daughter all day all night. Food wise, I try my best to cook since I can control what I eat and the calories. There are days I would cook pasta, chicken, whatever that we have in the fridge. But nowadays what I do is eating carbs in the morning/afternoon then for dinner I would eat a salad. I try my best to eat every so often so that I don’t get too hungry and when I eat I indulged in everything which is a terrible thing to do. One good thing now since the rice we have at home sucks, I don’t eat much rice anymore.

Anyways that’s about it. I wanted to share with everyone what I’ve been doing lately. Until next time!

Beauty: Drug store products

Few days ago I decided that I want to get back into wearing makeup. I used to wear makeup about 6 years ago but I stopped cause I got lazy. So over the weekend and on Wednesday I went to Walmart and Target to purchased some drug store makeup products.

Here is what I bought. The curling iron I had to get a bigger size cause the one I have right now is only 3/4 I think? So I needed to purchased a bigger barrel.

Here is a close up of the makeup products I purchased. L’Oreal makeup remover, Covergirl smokyshadow blast (815 and 810), L’Oreal liquid eyeliner, Sonia Kashuk concealer 19 Dawn, Maybelline dream liquid mousse foundation in classic ivory, and Elf eyelid primer.

Here are the swatches for the eyeshadow that I bought from left to right is: the first two is the purple plume (810) and the last two is the bronze fire (815). Stupid me, I dropped one of the eye shadow (815) so when I was doing a swatch of it, it ended up breaking from the bottom. What a waste.

From left to right: liquid eyeliner in carbon black, concealer, and primer. I don’t know if people usually do swatches for concealer and primer but I decided to do it to show how close it is to my skin tone. Since this is my first time picking out my foundation I had to do a swatch to see how close it is matching my skin tone so I apologized if it isn’t close at all since I’m still new to this. Also I wanted to purchased the Sonia Kashuk concealer palette but with my luck and going to two Targets they were completely sold out. Boohoo. :( So hopefully they get a restock soon.

Choosing a foundation was a little bit tricky for me since I didn’t want to be too light or too dark for my skin tone. So here it is when you put it on your hand.

Then when you begin to blend.

And the finishing touches. I know this is usually for your face but this is just to see how it matches my skin tone.

Anyways, I ordered some more makeup products online and hopefully once it arrives I’ll be able to show you guys what I have.

Beauty: Purchases from Ulta and makeover

Here is the overall purchase. Urban Decay Naked 2 palette, NYX eye/eyebrow pencil (905 Silver), NYX Le Frou Frou mascara (BMC01), NYX The “Blue” lip gloss smile brightener, and NYX jumbo eye pencil (608 Cottage Cheese)

After hearing GREAT reviews from beauty gurus on Youtube and my friends. I decided to purchased the naked 2 palette. I haven’t tried it yet but just opening the palette and seeing all the colors are breath taking. There are so many neutral colors that I can use for a day and night time look.

The eye pencils that I purchased the NYX jumbo eye pencil and the eye/eyebrown pencil is something that I wanted to use to make my eyes brighter and a little bit bigger. And the lip gloss smile brightener is something that I wanted to try out and see if it’s what it’s suppose to be. Of course I purchased the mascara to make my eyelashes nice.

This actually came with the naked 2 palette.
……

Other than that yesterday I went over to my cousin Lin’s house to get a complete makeover and the results were great! Lin used to do my makeup and hair back when we were in high school for special occasions or just for kicks. So seeing how she did makeup/hair back then and compared to now has changed so much and professional now too.

Please check out her Facebook page and like it! LDiepStudio (Hair-Makeup-Photos)

So that’s about it for now. When I have time I’ll start experimenting with all these goodies that I got.

Marianne Estellise: Pregnancy to birth

Since I deleted all my past post which Includes pregnancy updates and the birth of Marianne. I decided to dedicate a post to her and share it all to everyone again.

Almost 2 years ago Mike and I been blessed with news that we were going to have a baby. I still remember how I found out I was pregnant, every detail of it. It was on a Sunday evening, I was in the bathroom (tmi) and was doing my business when all of a sudden I felt so nausea like I wanted to throw up. So after that I told Mike that I think I might be pregnant so I took three take-home pregnancy tests and all three of them showed up as a + sign then a faded - sign. I was like WTF am I pregnant or not? Of course I went to the doctors to take a pregnancy test and the next day I got the results and damn right I was pregnant!

This is the first ultrasound, I was 6 weeks pregnant when I found out.

Not wanting to get into too much details but overall my pregnancy was difficult for me. While I was pregnant I was sick so many times with the cold. I had to go into Kaiser to get my blood drawn to the point that I lost count on how many times I had to do it.

But anyways since I was pregnant Mike and I came up with only GIRL names. Some people were wondering what if we end up having a boy instead? I was like I don’t know. HAHA. But turns out we ended up having a girl. We found out when I was 19 weeks pregnant!

The story of Marianne’s name pretty much came from me and Mike. At first we wanted to name her Estellise but Mike liked the name Marianne. So Carlo was saying why don’t we put the two names together so that’s when we came up with “Marianne Estellise”.

Originally my due date was April 10, 2011 but she didn’t come out that day. Instead she was four days late and if she didn’t come a week after my due date I would have to get induced. So on Thursday April 13, 2011 I went to get a pedicure with my mother-in-law. The lady who was doing my pedicure knew that I was late so she decided to massage both my feet really well cause there is a saying that if you massage the right points on your foot you can go into labor so I said hey let’s give it a try. That night after I woke up from my nap and I got up to use the bathroom, I felt some liquid and to my understanding it was my water that broke. I wasn’t completely sure because it wasn’t alot but pretty much it was. Before heading to the hospital I took a shower, got my stuff ready, and ate dinner.. once we got to the hospital around 10:30pm they admit me cause I was going into labor.

It was a long process for me. I didn’t start getting contractions until Friday morning around 3am or 4am. I was in pain so they decided to give me the epidural then around close to 2pm I was ready to give birth to Marianne.

Then at 2:37pm on April 14, 2011 weighing almost 8 pounds I gave birth to our beautiful daughter Marianne.

Personal: “Out of sight, out of mind”

I decided that I need to stop feeling sorry for myself and actually do something about it. I am the type of person that if I have something from my past in front of me I’ll dwell on it. So what I decide to do was to delete EVERYTHING that was on this blog and start off fresh. Remember that whole phrase “out of sight, out of mind”? Well that’s what I’m trying to do right now. I know it doesn’t really help me to move on but I’ll try anything right now at the moment to start feeling better.
